Quantity Surveyor
12 Month Contract - Inside IR35 - Electrical Networks - Hybrid
We are seeking experienced Quantity Surveyors to join our team in a role that covers all aspects of cost management across a variety of civil and electrical engineering projects. These projects include: overhead powerline installations, high-voltage substations involving both civil and electrical work.
Responsibilities:
- Leading cost management activities through all phases of project delivery.
- Processing contractor payments and supporting contract administration.
- Developing tender documentation for framework agreements, working closely with procurement teams.
- Overseeing contractor pre-qualification evaluations.
- Conducting commercial site audits.
- Analysing past project data and preparing cost estimates.
- Forecasting and monitoring OPEX and CAPEX programs.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong self-management skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Effective teamwork, knowledge-sharing, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Creative problem-solving approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
- Proficiency in negotiation and report writing.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with administering construction contracts, such as FIDIC Conditions.
- Chartered status with a recognized professional body.
Qualifications:
- A Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Preferred Experience:
- 5–7 years of post-qualification experience.
- Background in civil engineering or utility projects.
- Familiarity with SAP, SharePoint, and advanced Excel skills, including VBA macros.
Commercials:
- Start Date: December 1st.
- Contract Duration: Twelve months
- Travel and related expenses to the designated base location will not be covered.
