Senior Authorised Person

33kV Senior Authorised Person - Central Belt , Scotland - Day rate, Outside IR35 - ASAP start

Hunter Philips are partnered with a leading HV Engineering provider who are looking for a 33kV Senior Authorised Person / HV Specialist to their team. The successful candidate will need to be based in Scotland and hold authorisations at 33kV. Having previous authorisations at 132kV would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure strict adherence to electrical safety, environmental, and regulatory standards through risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Issue and control permits on the HV networks and manage safe switching and isolation of 33kV systems.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolve faults on 33kV systems & coordinating maintenance.
• Provide expert technical guidance, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring high-voltage best practices.
• Enforcement of the client HV safety rules to uphold electrical safety from the system
• Maintain records for all switching, isolation, and permit activities, generating reports on system performance and incidents.
• Reenergisation of the generation sites, assisting with the commissioning checks on the projects and finally hand over to the client

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years experience switching at 33kV as an SAP
• Flexibility with travelling
• Must live in Central Belt Scotland
• Evidence of previous authorisations at 33kV
• Authorisations at 132kV is advantageous but not essential
• Experience working on renewable generation sites is desired but not essential
