Role Overview:
The Senior Project Engineer - HVDC will play a key role in overseeing turnkey EPC HVDC projects in the USA, ensuring flawless execution. This role involves managing project planning, execution, and delivery to meet technical specifications, budget constraints, and timeline targets, while effectively managing contractors and partners to ensure alignment and seamless collaboration throughout the project life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all HVDC tasks (engineering, procurement, fabrication/modification, installation) performed by the HVDC OEM and team.
- Ensure compliance with HVDC agreements through thorough reviews and interface management.
- Contribute to internal reports, program updates, cost books, and risk registers.
- Prepare status reports and technical information for stakeholders.
- Support HVDC system design, implementation, and maintenance to meet Attentive Energy's onshore transmission objectives.
- Provide technical support for HVDC offshore converter station design, installation, commissioning, and operation.
- Manage HVDC projects from start to finish, meeting timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams, third parties, and contractors for HVDC system integration.
- Coordinate with related work packages (contracting, supply chain, permitting) for onshore export development.
- Review and manage technical reports, studies, and drawings related to HVDC.
- Offer technical guidance in commercial discussions with OEMs and contractors.
- Travel as needed for project activities, including assessments, factory visits, and site inspections.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in managing HVDC/HVAC or substation projects
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget, highlighting excellent project management skills.
- Exceptional leadership and communication abilities, crucial for guiding project teams and engaging with stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, enabling navigation of complex challenges and strategic project-related decisions.
- Proficiency in relevant industry standards and regulations, ensuring projects adhere to the highest quality and compliance standards.
