The Role

In this role, you will build and lead a Grid Delivery team, that will be responsible for the construction of grid connection assets for the clients Solar PV and BESS pipeline.

You will support the delivery of the 15GW+ project pipeline to energisation by guiding a team of experts throughout the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of projects.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of all relevant Construction and Health & Safety standards and regulations across the UK along with technical expertise in grid connection methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for solar and storage grid connection projects.
• Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of a range of Solar PV and BESS grid connection projects.
• Ensure comprehensive knowledge and compliance with CDM 2015 regulations.
• Oversee all construction activities related to connecting the project portfolio to distribution networks in the UK and Ireland.
• Develop, track, and manage project budgets and timelines.
• Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams within the business.
• Implement and enforce quality assurance and control measures.
• Prepare and deliver regular progress reports to senior management and key stakeholders.

Requirements 

• 10+ years of experience in project delivery
• 5 years in a senior leadership role in the electricity or renewables sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven track record of successful project delivery with a focus on safety, timelines, quality, and cost.
• Experience working successfully on multiple projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects
• Experience maintaining relationships with stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience in budget management and contract management.
• Effective leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
