Plant Operator
6 Month Contract - Inside IR35 - Generator site - Onsite - Shift Based – 12-hours shifts
You will be working for one of the leading companies in Ireland making sure the site is managed, maintained, and operated to strict efficiency and availability standards in a competitive commercial market. . Reporting within the Operations function a Plant Operator is a team player and self-starter with the ability to multitask, meet deadlines as well as develop and motivate team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe, efficient plant operations and maintain personnel safety.
- Perform daily tasks including monitoring, assessing, testing, and equipment operation.
- Independently develop and maintain relevant competencies.
- Adhere to safety and environmental guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external parties.
- Support daily shift operations, including maintaining logs and submitting required reports.
- Assist with procedure development and system implementation for plant operations.
- Participate in maintenance and troubleshooting, outage, and project management as needed.
- Contribute to business improvement projects.
- Provide roster coverage and fulfil additional duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proficiency in process analysis to address operational conditions.
- Strong IT, communication skills, and enthusiasm for learning.
- Experience in Combined Cycle Gas Turbine operation.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards (preferred).
- Familiarity with Maintenance/Operations Management Systems and control systems (preferred).
Qualifications:
- Level 6 to 8 engineering or technical qualification, or equivalent experience.
Location and Working Conditions:
- Primary location: Cork. Full-time, on-site presence required.
- Note: Travel and accommodation expenses to the primary location are not covered.
- Initial six-month contract, with possible extension.
Other Requirements:
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) including fire-resistant overalls, eye/hearing protection, safety boots, and hard hat.
- Personal phone, laptop/PC, and internet for professional engagement.
- Certifications in First Aid and Manual Handling, and eligibility to work in Ireland.
