Senior OSS HV Electrical Engineer – 12 month contract – Remote working – 1 week a month in HQ - ASAP

I am looking for a Senior Offshore Substation HV Electrical Engineer to join an exceptional team to contribute to the design, installation, and upkeep of electrical systems within offshore substations for an offshore wind farm, ensuring the dependable and efficient transfer of power from offshore wind farms to the onshore grid.

Responsibilities

• Contributing electrical engineering expertise to various feasibility and concept projects focused on offshore substations. Collaborating closely with engineers from wind turbines, inter-array cables, export cables, and onshore substations to create optimal technical solutions during project development.
• Establishing the design and specifications for offshore substation topsides, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, legislation, ethics, and industry best practices. Preparing detailed specifications and technical documents for contractors, while aligning with project policies, regulatory mandates, and environmental concerns.
• Offering technical support across technical and cross-functional teams throughout the entire project life cycle.
• Drafting and updating technical specifications and requirements by integrating feedback from various engineering teams.
• Monitoring and evaluating contractor progress, deliverables, and documentation to ensure they meet the necessary requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 4 years experience working on HV electrical systems within offshore wind development
• You must be able to carry out electrical calculations, simulations, and load flow analysis to assess cable performance and capacity
• Experience working with documentation
• Must have excellent written and verbal English skills

Logistics

• ASAP start date
• 12 month contract
• Outside IR35 in the UK
• Monday – Friday
• Remote working with 1 week a month at the clients HQ
• Travel and accommodation covered
