Contract - Foundation Package - Travel to EU HQ when needed
Hunter Philips are currently searching for a Senior Procurement Manager to lead the Foundation Package for a major Offshore Wind Project. As a pivotal member of the procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the Awarding Stage of the foundation contracts, which form the critical structural base of the wind farm. If you have a solid background in offshore wind procurement, particularly in foundation design and contracting, this role offers the chance to contribute to a world-class renewable energy project.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Procurement for the Foundation Package:
- Manage the procurement strategy and process for the offshore wind farm’s foundation components, including monopiles, jackets, and gravity-based structures, as appropriate.
- Drive the Awarding Stage of the procurement process, including tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier selection.
- Ensure the timely awarding of contracts to meet project schedules and technical specifications.
Contract Negotiation and Award Finalisation:
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, ensuring optimal terms, pricing, and risk allocation.
- Finalise contracts for the foundation package, ensuring they meet project requirements, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Secure favourable commercial and technical terms, ensuring robust risk mitigation strategies are embedded in contracts.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with foundation suppliers and subcontractors to ensure project objectives are met.
- Manage ongoing communication with key suppliers to address any contractual or commercial issues, fostering a collaborative partnership.
- Ensure supplier performance aligns with agreed milestones, warranties, and service levels throughout the project lifecycle.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Project Management to align procurement activities with the overall project goals.
- Work with technical experts to ensure all foundation design and construction requirements are properly captured in contracts and tender documentation.
- Liaise with other package managers to ensure seamless coordination across the offshore wind project’s procurement process.
Risk and Compliance Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with the foundation package procurement, including cost overruns, delivery delays, and technical challenges.
- Ensure all procurement processes comply with legal, environmental, and industry regulations, especially in relation to offshore wind.
- Maintain detailed records of procurement decisions, ensuring a transparent audit trail and accountability throughout the process.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 8-10 years of experience in procurement, with a strong background in offshore wind.
- Proven experience in managing the procurement of large-scale foundation packages, with a focus on offshore wind.
- Strong expertise in contract negotiation and supplier management, particularly during the awarding stage of the procurement process.
- Familiarity with the technical and commercial aspects of foundation design, manufacturing, and installation in offshore environments.
