The Envision Group as a whole, is the only company in the world that turns over $8 billion purely off green energy. They made up of 3 different subsidiaries, there is Envision Energy, which is their main OEM part of the business. There is Envision AESC which is there battery storage part of the business that they acquired off Nisan. Finally there is Envision Digital. The founder and CEO of the company is a guy called Lei Zheng, he is one of the most ambitious CEOs around, with some very interesting articles about him that are definitely worth giving a read to understand his plans for the future. Envision Energy is Shanghai headquartered and they are Chinas number 1 turbine manufacturer, recently overtaking Goldwind. This sits them at around 4th in the world, competing heavily with the likes of Vestas, GE and Siemens Gamesa. An example of their development as a business, they recently unveiled a 10MW turbine, that is the most powerful and most energy efficient turbine in the world. They are also on track to develop 25GW of wind power this year, which would make them the number 1 turbine manufacturer in the world. Envision Energy are not only just involved in wind energy, they have a strong focus on battery storage, as well as hydrogen, and their goal is to be the number 1 in all technologies. In terms of battery and energy storage, Envision have over 15 years in this space. As I mentioned earlier, their main battery storage part of the business was acquired off Nissan a few years ago. They have a few offices around the world, they are mainly based in China and Japan. However their main centre of excellence is in Boston in the USA and as a business they have 20GWh in operation currently, and they are on track to reach an installed capacity of 400GWh by 2026. Their new battery solutions are manufactured with the highest quality design and equipped with the most advanced Aiot battery technologies. The digital side of the business work in synergy with Envision Energy. Envision Digital are Singapore headquartered and they were founded in 2016. Envision Digital have 12 offices world wide with 900 employees and they are more established in Europe than Envision Energy, with their main markets being the UK, Germany, France and the Netherlands. Their digital side of the business alone is around $120m in turn over, and they have a clear target to reach around $1B in turnover in the next 2 years. Their EnOS platform is their main product that connects to around 220 million devices, whilst managing around 600GW of assets globally. And essentially they are looking to grow and improve their team in every area, in particular, they are looking to grow their sales and delivery team, as they have won significant multi million euro deals across Europe. These deals are software based as well as digital platform based which supply them with recurring revenue with other large companies such as Google, Microsoft and IBM to name a few. They are focused in industries such as Banking / Finance and Insurance, Retail along with, logistics and ports and shipping. Obviously these are some of the main industries that are looking to reduce their carbon footprint in the coming decades. Some candiates do get quite sceptical about working for Chinese companies, so this is what I say to try and counter that:
A note to point out - They have leaned away from the traditional Chinese way of doing things, I guess China are quite well known for copying a more established European product, and selling it for cheap and then selling it in mass. However, this is not the way Envision are doing things. They have created their own centres of excellence to develop the most energy efficient onshore turbine in the world. My Director has been working with Envision for several years now, and at the start of the relationship, the main people he dealt with were Chinese based, now I would say it is probably around a 50/50 split between Europeans and Chinese people.
