Hunter Philips is currently seeking a QA/QC Engineer for a utility-scale PV plant who will be responsible for for ensuring the quality and reliability of the client’s solar energy systems. The role is based in Ireland, starting in April 2025 for a 12-month contract. You will conduct inspections, perform tests, and implement quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards of performance and safety.
Our client leads innovative energy transition projects worldwide, focusing on renewable energy, grid modernization, and sustainable infrastructure. Whilst experience in the PV industry would be a huge advantage, this opportunity is also open to those without experience in the industry.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Conduct Inspections: Perform inspections on PV modules, inverters, trenches, PV structures and other system components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Identify Defects: Detect and document any defects or inconsistencies in PV components and systems and collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve these issues.
- Implement Quality Standards: Assist in developing and implementing quality control processes and standards specific to PV plant operations.
- Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of inspections, tests, and other quality control activities to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Training: Train plant staff on quality standards and procedures to ensure compliance and promote a culture of quality.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on quality control activities, findings, and any issues encountered.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a QA/QC Technician, preferably in the renewable energy sector or utility-scale PV plants.
- Experience in electrical and quality engineering is essential, with oversight of subcontractor quality standards and experience in using quality control software.
- Strong understanding of PV systems, quality control standards, and testing procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in quality assurance, electrical engineering, or a related field are a plus.
