400kV Senior Authorised Person– OFTO Projects - UK Wide – 12 Month Contract – Monday to Friday – July/August start date

I'm currently looking for an experienced 400kV Senior Authorised Person to support a portfolio of OFTO projects across multiple locations throughout the UK.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Issuing and receiving safety documents
  • Carrying out switching operations up to 400kV
  • Acting as the focal point for HV safety on site
  • Supporting commissioning and energisation activities
  • Coordinating with project teams, contractors and network stakeholders
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company safety rules and procedures

 

Requirements

  • Current or recent 400kV Senior Authorised Person authorisation
  • Strong operational switching experience within the UK transmission sector
  • Experience working on OFTO, National Grid, transmission or offshore wind-related projects
  • Proven track record of delivering safe HV operations on live systems
  • Full UK driving licence

 

Contract Details

  • 12 Month Contract
  • Monday to Friday
  • Multiple UK Sites
  • Day rate, outside IR35 
  • July/August start

About the Role: I am seeking a Global HVDC Engineering Leader to drive the worldwide engineering strategy across my clients High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) portfolios. This is a highly visible executive leadership position responsible for shaping engineering excellence, technical governance, organisational capability and innovation. Leading a global function of Regional Engineering Leaders, you will provide strategic direction and technical leadership across HVDC Systems Engineering, Converter Station Engineering, Control & Protection, Civil & Structural Engineering, and Cable Engineering. You will ensure engineering consistency, quality and performance across all regions while supporting the successful execution of major HVDC transmission projects worldwide. Key Responsibilities: Define and execute the global engineering strategy for the HVDC business. Lead and develop Regional Engineering Leaders across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and other global regions. Drive engineering excellence, technical governance and standardisation across the global engineering organisation. Establish engineering processes, design standards and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across the project portfolio.
