The Company

A leading independent investor, developer, and asset manager of European Solar PV parks (as well as wider technologies), this business sets the pace for the rest to follow in return-driven investments with a focus on longevity as partners in order to maximise the returns for their investors and the management teams who they support. Managing over 1000 renewables assets valuing over €2.5 billion, they have a three-year goal of 5GW of renewable assets.

 

The Role

Deliver and maintain comprehensive control room operations within a 24/7 responsive setting, proficiently managing and operating all control room systems. Facilitate effective collaboration with Plant Managers to ensure the successful management of maintenance tickets, timely interventions, and optimal operation of all assets. This role is office-based.

Wider Responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitor the real-time performance of PV plants using dedicated dashboards and assess deviations in performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Perpetually monitor the status, alerts, and errors generated by onsite components. Working Closely with the Technical Asset Management Team.
  • Perpetually monitor automatic alarms generated by monitoring/SCADA and other systems.
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting and determine necessary actions, including creating tickets and assigning work orders to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with local onsite technicians from maintenance providers (escalating to Plant managers when necessary) to resolve incidents, providing supporting evidence and updating work orders/tickets accordingly.
  • Monitor Security Systems alarms and oversee CCTV surveillance.
  • Implement action plans in response to intrusions.
  • Report any unusual activities or alarm activations to designated individuals.
  • Provide detailed reports for all incidents.
  • Conduct remote control and troubleshooting as needed.

 

The Person

Preferred qualifications include a degree in electrical engineering and/or several years of experience in technical operations within the photovoltaic (PV) industry. Proficiency in engaging in business discussions and negotiations is essential. Additionally, recommended experience includes working in a project matrix organization.

  • Previous experience in monitoring and troubleshooting PV systems.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and remote monitoring tools.
  • Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of security systems, including CCTV.
