Head of EPC – Solar & BESS | Germany (Flexible Location)

As operations are being scaled up, we’re looking for an ambitious and experienced Head of EPC to spearhead the successful execution of project portfolio - starting with Germany, and extending across the EU (Spain, France, Italy etc).

The Role:

As Head of EPC, you'll oversee the full lifecycle of project delivery - from engineering and procurement strategy through to construction and commissioning. You'll work closely with the executive team and project development leads to transform pipeline assets into fully operational, revenue-generating power plants.

Your primary focus will be on utility-scale solar PV and co-located or standalone BESS projects, ensuring technical excellence, commercial value, and safe delivery - on time and on budget.

 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Own and lead the EPC function across the organisation.
  • Develop and implement robust execution strategies for solar & BESS projects.
  • Select and manage EPC contractors, negotiate contracts, and oversee performance.
  • Work cross-functionally with development, finance, and legal teams during project handover and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with German and EU technical, environmental, and HSE standards.
  • Provide leadership to internal engineers, construction managers, and external consultants.
  • Build scalable processes and a high-performance culture across the delivery team.

 

What We're Looking For:

  • 8+ years of experience in renewable energy project delivery (with recent focus on solar and/or BESS).
  • Proven track record in delivering large-scale projects in Germany or the EU.
  • Technical degree in Engineering or related field; PMP or equivalent is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of EPC contract models, construction law, and project risk mitigation.
  • Fluent in German, Good understanding of English; other languages are a plus
  • Comfortable with travel across Germany and Europe.
