The role:
As Grid Connection Manager, you’ll be responsible for securing and managing grid connections for renewable energy and battery storage projects across Germany. You’ll act as the key liaison between project teams and grid operators (TSOs/DSOs), navigating the technical and regulatory landscape to ensure timely and cost-effective connections.
This is a hands-on role where you will:
- Research and evaluate optimal grid connection points for new project developments
- Initiate and manage communication with grid operators to secure and maintain grid access
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex grid-related issues, including pushback from TSOs/DSOs
- Stay up to date on the German grid infrastructure and upcoming developments
- Support development teams with grid feasibility, timelines, and technical input
The ideal candidate:
- Bring prior experience in grid connection roles, ideally from a grid operator, energy supplier, or developer
- Has a strong understanding of the German power grid, including transmission and distribution systems
- Is confident navigating TSO/DSO processes, with experience overcoming challenges and negotiating successful outcomes
- Works independently, takes initiative, and enjoys collaborative problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in German and comfortable communicating in English
