Our client is seeking a Consultant Engineer (Electrical) to support critical transformer design, manufacturing, and quality activities.
Reporting directly to the Director, this role will play a key part in ensuring transformer products are developed to the highest standards of design, quality, and manufacturability, while identifying and mitigating technical risks early in the development process, particularly within HVDC applications.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide technical support for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and site-related transformer issues.
· Lead and support independent design reviews to ensure engineering and quality best practices.
· Identify and mitigate design and manufacturing risks early in the development cycle.
· Support the transfer of design into manufacturing to ensure quality and manufacturability.
· Communicate technical analyses with customers, manufacturers, and suppliers.
· Drive root cause analysis, quality improvements, and lessons learned.
· Support the introduction of new designs and technologies into manufacturing.
· Lead standardisation and modularisation initiatives.
· Monitor industry developments and emerging technologies.
