HV Substation Package Manager - Senior Electrical Engineer - 110kV AIS Substation - Power Generation Project - North of Dublin, Ireland


Job Overview:

We are supporting a leading EPC contractor on the delivery of a large-scale power generation project in Ireland, who are seeking an experienced HV Electrical Engineer to take ownership of a new-build 110kV AIS substation package.


This is a key role within the project, responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the substation package - from early-stage design and procurement through to construction and commissioning.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and coordinate design submissions, ensuring alignment with project and grid requirements
  • Oversee execution of the substation contract through design, construction, and commissioning phases
  • Interface with key stakeholders including the client, network operators, and supply chain partners
  • Monitor programme progress and ensure delivery against key milestones
  • Review and certify contractor applications, variations, and final accounts
  • Ensure compliance with Irish construction standards, grid requirements, and project specifications
  • Work closely with project and site teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience delivering HV substation projects, ideally within Ireland
  • Strong understanding of AIS substation design, procurement, and construction processes
  • Experience managing design-and-build contractors or package suppliers
  • Knowledge of Irish grid standards, construction regulations, and permitting processes
  • Ability to operate across both design and site-based project phases

  • Duration: 18 months
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Working Hours: 08:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday
