Job Overview

Hunter Philips is supporting a leading organisation within the UK's high voltage infrastructure sector in the search for an experienced 400kV Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to join a growing operational team.

This is a key technical leadership position supporting the safe operation of multiple high-voltage assets connected to the SSEN, SPEN and National Grid. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining operational excellence across a portfolio of strategically important transmission-connected assets.

This opportunity would suit someone who thrives in a technically demanding environment and enjoys combining hands-on operational responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out Senior Authorised Person duties including switching, isolation planning, safety documentation, demarcation and outage management.
  • Lead the planning and execution of complex outages across multiple operational assets.
  • Oversee site-level asset execution plans to ensure safe and efficient delivery of operational activities.
  • Act as the primary technical interface with clients on operational and high voltage matters.
  • Coordinate activities across internal engineering teams, contractors and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure full compliance with High Voltage Safety Rules, HSEQ standards and industry best practice.
  • Provide technical support during operational events and unplanned network issues across the asset portfolio.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current or previous Senior Authorised Person (SAP) authorisation up to 400kV.
  • Extensive operational experience on SSEN, SPEN or National Grid connected transmission assets.
  • Strong background in high voltage switching, outage management and operational safety.
  • Excellent understanding of High Voltage Safety Rules and HSEQ legislation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to make sound technical decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.

CLIENT REPRESENTATIVE – SITE MANAGER (CLIENT SIDE) - SOLAR FARM - SOLAR PV (CORNWALL)Location: CornwallContract: Freelance / ContractDuration: 15 monthsSector: Renewable Energy – Utility Scale Solar PVThe OpportunityWe are looking to speak with experienced Client Representatives / Site Managers interested in supporting the delivery of upcoming utility-scale Solar PV developments across Cornwall.Initially, the client has multiple schemes progressing through development, including a 45MW project and a 13MW project expected to be the first to enter construction.
