Senior Authorised Person – 6 month contract – Northern Ireland – 33kV–110kV - Day rate I’m working with an established renewable energy business delivering wind and solar projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe. Due to a growing pipeline of projects, they require an experienced Senior Authorised Person to provide operational and technical support across construction, commissioning and energisation activities.The role will involve:Acting as Senior Authorised Person across 33kV, 38kV and 110kV systems.Providing Safety from the System and issuing electrical safety documentation.Supporting HV switching, isolations, earthing and energisation activities.Reviewing and maintaining project-specific HV safety plans and operational procedures.Managing outage requirements and coordinating activities with Network Control.Providing technical guidance to project teams on HV compliance.Supporting construction supplies, commissioning and post-energisation works.Ensuring projects operate in accordance with electrical safety rules.Travelling between renewable energy projects across the UK and Europe.Experience required:Current or previous SAP authorisation at 33kV or above.Strong DNO, power station or transmission network experience.Practical experience of Safety from the System and HV switching.Knowledge of HV testing, commissioning and network operations.Experience supporting wind, solar or other HV infrastructure projects.Strong understanding of HV compliance and operational safety documentation.Flexible to travel between project locations when required.Contract detailsInitial 6 month contract Monday to Friday Start date TBCIreland with travel to the England and European projects This is a long term contract opportunity supporting a strong pipeline of renewable energy projects. The role will primarily operate Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work depending on project requirements.

OHL ENGINEERING MANAGER - CLIENT SIDE - ONSHORE TRANSMISSION - OHL (OVERHEAD LINES) - HIGH VOLTAGE ENGINEERINGLocation: UK / Flexible (Remote)Contract: Freelance / ContractDuration: Long-Term Potential (Minimum 18 months)Sector: Power Grids - Onshore Transmission / Overhead LinesThe OpportunityWe are looking to speak with highly experienced OHL Engineering Managers interested in supporting the delivery of major new onshore transmission infrastructure in the UK.The successful individual would act as the client's technical eyes and ears for the overhead line scope, working closely with designers, OEMs, EPC contractors and other delivery partners to ensure the proposed technical solutions meet project requirements.Key Responsibilities:Provide client-side technical leadership across the OHL engineering scope.Act as the primary technical interface between the client, engineering designers, EPC contractors and key suppliers.Review engineering proposals, designs and technical submissions on behalf of the client.Provide technical challenge and assurance throughout design and project development.Coordinate technical interfaces between OHL packages and the wider transmission project.Support contractor and supplier tendering, technical evaluations and engineering discussions.Identify technical risks, design issues and interface challenges throughout project development.Provide specialist OHL knowledge to support the wider project and commercial teams.Ensure engineering solutions align with applicable transmission standards and project requirements.Support the project through its early development and procurement phases with the potential to continue into subsequent stages.Requirements:Extensive engineering experience within high-voltage overhead line transmission infrastructure.Strong technical knowledge of OHL design, engineering and project delivery.Previous experience working for National Grid, another major transmission utility or a leading transmission EPC contractor would be highly advantageous.Experience managing technical interfaces with engineering consultants, designers, EPC contractors and suppliers.Strong understanding of UK transmission standards and engineering requirements.If you would be interested in learning more, please apply by submitting your CV or reach out directly to roman.floyd@hunterphilips.com.
