Senior Authorised Person – 6 month contract – Northern Ireland – 33kV–110kV - Day rate


I’m working with an established renewable energy business delivering wind and solar projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe. Due to a growing pipeline of projects, they require an experienced Senior Authorised Person to provide operational and technical support across construction, commissioning and energisation activities.


The role will involve:

  • Acting as Senior Authorised Person across 33kV, 38kV and 110kV systems.
  • Providing Safety from the System and issuing electrical safety documentation.
  • Supporting HV switching, isolations, earthing and energisation activities.
  • Reviewing and maintaining project-specific HV safety plans and operational procedures.
  • Managing outage requirements and coordinating activities with Network Control.
  • Providing technical guidance to project teams on HV compliance.
  • Supporting construction supplies, commissioning and post-energisation works.
  • Ensuring projects operate in accordance with electrical safety rules.
  • Travelling between renewable energy projects across the UK and Europe.

Experience required:

  • Current or previous SAP authorisation at 33kV or above.
  • Strong DNO, power station or transmission network experience.
  • Practical experience of Safety from the System and HV switching.
  • Knowledge of HV testing, commissioning and network operations.
  • Experience supporting wind, solar or other HV infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of HV compliance and operational safety documentation.
  • Flexible to travel between project locations when required.

  • Initial 6 month contract
  • Monday to Friday
  • Start date TBC
  • Ireland with travel to the England and European projects

This is a long term contract opportunity supporting a strong pipeline of renewable energy projects. The role will primarily operate Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work depending on project requirements.
