Our client is a leading, specialist engineering organisation for high-voltage design, transmission, storage and the technology that supports this equipment. They have a enviable client base including renewable energy companies, utilities and the resource sector.


The company continues to grow and demand from clients is high, as such they are looking for experienced Grid Connection Managers and Grid Connection Engineers to join their team. They are also recruiting similar roles for other locations in major cities in Australia.


The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to join a team of specialist engineers who provide technical solutions and expertise to multiple clients across a range of projects in Australia across the power and energy industry.


The Role:

  • Lead the delivery of grid connections for all renewable projects
  • Manage end‑to‑end grid connection submissions, negotiations, including engagement with stakeholders such as AEMO, and other relevant parties.
  • Be the technical expert relating to all design, authorisation, and execution maters for the substation and connection of renewables plants to the grid
  • Provide expert advice and support team members on grid connection & potential risks to project feasibility
  • Review electrical system designs against grid code and supervise the delivery work of 3rd party contractors and consultants associated to HV substations and Balance of Plant
  • Collaborate on Grid Connection applications & negotiation of conditions with network operators
  • Manage risk and problems arising with the Grid Connection

The Person:

The successful candidate will likely have:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Extensive and expertise as a Grid Professional in Utility Scale Projects with a strong focus on successful delivery.
  • Understand utility Grid Code, AEMO and have relationships with Transmission & Distribution operators
  • Have expert technical knowledge with the ability to support team members and influence technical discussions.
  • Strong commercial skills with experience of contract negotiations and managing risk factors.
  • Be able to solve complex problems, engage, lead, motivate and inspire teams to success.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong technical knowledge and influencing skills with varying stakeholders.
  • Have a valid visa to live and work in Australia.

We are also looking for experienced Grid Connection Engineers with expertise in power systems studies, grid connections, and renewable energy projects. You will work very closely with key stakeholders including developers, Network Service Providers, OEM's and other stakeholders in order to deliver high-quality technical solutions. can confidently present outstanding results and outcomes to clients.
