Are you an investment professional with a proven record of sourcing, evaluating and completing growth-stage investments? Do you want to take greater ownership of energy-transition deals while working closely with senior investors across a European platform?

We are looking to speak with Investment Managers and Principals with 5–8 years’ experience sourcing, evaluating, and executing European growth-stage investments in the energy transition space.

The Opportunity

The business invests in high-growth, scalable enterprises driving industrial and environmental transformation, with a European investment focus spanning climate-focused solutions and tech infrastructure. The platform is expanding to support the next stage of its long-term investment strategy.

The company is entering a key growth phase and is ready for the next stage of its investment strategy and to expand its investment capability.

The successful candidate will work closely with Partners throughout the full investment lifecycle. While the role does not include individuals who report directly to you, you would be expected to support and develop more junior investment colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and develop new investment opportunities through personal networks, market activity and industry events.
  • Develop investment theses around energy-transition sectors and emerging market opportunities.
  • Lead or support commercial, financial and strategic due diligence.
  • Build and challenge financial models, valuations and investment cases.
  • Prepare clear, commercially robust materials for Investment Committee review.
  • Progress transactions from initial engagement through investment approval and execution.
  • Build relationships with founders, management teams, advisers and wider market stakeholders.
  • Support junior colleagues across analysis, deal processes and investment decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Five to eight years of relevant investment, corporate finance, M&A, private-equity, venture-capital or strategy experience.
  • A demonstrable record of completed investments or transactions.
  • Strong experience in investment sourcing, thesis development and ownership of transaction processes.
  • Commercial and financial judgement, supported by strong modelling and valuation capability.
  • Experience across growth stages (Early to Expansion stage) would be valuable.
  • Interest in energy-transition technologies, infrastructure or climate-focused businesses.
  • Confident communication and relationship-building skills across senior stakeholders and founders.

This opportunity offers genuine end-to-end deal exposure, close access to senior decision-makers and the chance to shape investments that support the energy transition.

For investment professionals looking to step into a Principal-level remit, it provides a credible route to broaden deal ownership, deepen sector expertise and build long-term influence within a specialist investment platform.

If you have the investment track record, commercial judgement and energy-transition interest to succeed in this type of role, apply with your CV or contact Taran Gill directly at taran.gill@hunterphilips.com for a confidential discussion about being considered for this future appointment.
