QUALITY MANAGER - SOLAR PV & BATTERY ENERGY STORAGE (BESS) - RENEWABLE ENERGY - QA/QCLocation: Northwest England, UK - Site / Portfolio BasedContract: Minimum 12 months, Long-Term Contract OpportunityThe OpportunityWe are looking to speak with experienced Quality Managers / Quality Engineers interested in joining a growing renewable energy developer and asset owner delivering a significant pipeline of utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects across the UK.The business has recently energised its first two projects and is now progressing its next developments into construction, with a wider pipeline that could see approximately six projects under construction during 2027.Key Responsibilities:Take responsibility for construction quality and QA/QC across a portfolio of projectsCarry out site inspections and ensure works are being completed in accordance with approved designs, specifications and quality requirements.Ensure appropriate inspection, test and quality documentation is maintained throughout project delivery.Work directly with EPC contractors, ICPs, equipment suppliers and internal project teams to resolve technical and quality issues.Review Solar equipment specifications and ensure installations meet the required technical standards.Provide technical oversight of inverter installation, connections and associated electrical infrastructure.Ensure defects, non-conformances and corrective actions are identified, recorded and appropriately closed out.Requirements:Strong electrical engineering OR technical background within utility-scale Solar PV.Previous QA/QC, Quality Management or technically focused construction experience within renewable energy.Strong understanding of Solar PV electrical systems, equipment specifications and installation requirements.Good technical knowledge of inverters and how equipment interfaces and connects across a Solar PV project.Ability to review contractor works and make informed technical decisions on quality issues.Comfortable challenging EPC contractors and suppliers where installations do not meet the required standards.If you would be interested in learning more about this role, please apply by submitting your CV or reach out directly to Roman Floyd at roman.floyd@hunterphilips.com for a confidential discussion.

TP141 Commissioning Engineer - 400kV National Grid Substation Project - London, England, UK - £Excellent Day Rate - 12 Month Rolling Contract - October/November Start - Monday to Friday (10 Hour Days)We're currently supporting a major T&D EPC Contractor in the search for a TP141 Commissioning Engineer to start in October or November on a 400kV National Grid substation project in London.The project forms part of a major programme to reinforce London’s transmission network and involves the delivery and integration of new 400kV GIS, transformers, protection, control and auxiliary systems.The successful contractor will support commissioning through testing, energisation and handover, with potential to continue onto further UK transmission projects.Responsibilities:Act as the authorised TP141 Commissioning Engineer for site commissioning activities.Plan and execute commissioning activities for a new 400kV GIS substation.Lead testing and commissioning of GIS, transformers and associated primary plant.Coordinate protection, control, interlocking, SCADA/SCS and auxiliary systems commissioning.Support integration of new assets into the existing transmission network.Review commissioning plans, test procedures, ITPs, switching programmes and energisation documentation.Oversee functional, protection, interlocking and end-to-end testing.Coordinate with engineering, construction, client, OEM and subcontractor teams.Support outage planning, energisation and defect resolution.Maintain commissioning and handover documentation.Ensure compliance with transmission procedures, project specifications and safety requirements.Requirements:Valid TP/BP/SR141 commissioning authorisation.Strong 275kV–400kV transmission substation commissioning experience.Proven experience on major UK transmission projects.Hands-on experience with 400kV GIS.Strong knowledge of transformers, protection, control and auxiliary systems.Experience with switching, energisation and operational interfaces.Strong understanding of UK transmission commissioning procedures and safety rules.Ability to work site-based in London.IEC 61850, busbar protection, feeder protection and SCS experience is desirable.Previous Tier 1 transmission EPC experience is desirable.This is a high-profile, long-term 400kV transmission project with the potential to continue across a wider pipeline of UK projects.If you are a TP141-authorised Commissioning Engineer with strong 400kV experience and availability from October or November 2026, please get in touch for a confidential discussion.Interested?
