Senior PPA Origination Manager - Renewables - Germany

About the Role: I am seeking a Global HVDC Engineering Leader to drive the worldwide engineering strategy across my clients High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) portfolios. This is a highly visible executive leadership position responsible for shaping engineering excellence, technical governance, organisational capability and innovation. Leading a global function of Regional Engineering Leaders, you will provide strategic direction and technical leadership across HVDC Systems Engineering, Converter Station Engineering, Control & Protection, Civil & Structural Engineering, and Cable Engineering. You will ensure engineering consistency, quality and performance across all regions while supporting the successful execution of major HVDC transmission projects worldwide. Key Responsibilities: Define and execute the global engineering strategy for the HVDC business. Lead and develop Regional Engineering Leaders across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and other global regions. Drive engineering excellence, technical governance and standardisation across the global engineering organisation. Establish engineering processes, design standards and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across the project portfolio. Oversee the technical direction of HVDC Systems, Converter Stations, Control & Protection, Civil & Structural, and Cable Engineering disciplines. Champion innovation, digital engineering and next-generation HVDC technologies to maintain market leadership. Build and develop world-class engineering capability, succession planning and talent development across the organisation. Partner closely with Project Delivery, Technology, Manufacturing, Construction and Service teams to ensure successful project execution. Represent the engineering organisation with executive leadership, customers, utilities and key industry stakeholders. Support strategic bids, major customer engagements and technical risk management for complex global projects. Key Requirements Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (Master's or PhD desirable). Extensive leadership experience within HVDC transmission, power systems or grid infrastructure. Proven experience leading large, geographically dispersed engineering organisations. Deep technical knowledge across HVDC Systems, Converter Stations, Control & Protection and associated engineering disciplines. Demonstrated success developing global engineering strategies, governance frameworks and technical standards. Strong commercial awareness with experience supporting major EPC or technology programmes. Outstanding leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills. Willingness to travel internationally.

132kV Senior Authorised Person – Long Term Contract – Southern England - Monday to Friday - SSEN South I’m supporting a major contractor delivering a substantial programme of connections, asset replacement and capital works across the SSEN network. The role will involve:Acting as a Senior Authorised Person on a live DNO network.Planning and coordinating 33kV and 132kV outages.Carrying out switching, isolation and restoration activities.Establishing and maintaining Safety from the System.Preparing, issuing and cancelling safety documentation.Supporting pressure testing, commissioning and Sanction for Test activities.Providing operational and technical guidance to site delivery teams.Supporting transformer, switchgear, GIS, cable and overhead line projects.Reviewing switching schedules, RAMS and project documentation.Liaising with Network Control, project teams and commissioning engineers.Supporting occasional overnight switching and weekend outages.Experience required:Current or previous UK DNO Senior Authorised Person experience at 132kV.Strong operational experience across substations, cables or overhead line projects.Experience preparing and managing HV safety documentation.A strong understanding of outage planning, switching and Safety from the System.SSEN authorisations are highly desirable.Sanction for Test or pressure testing competency would be particularly advantageous.Candidates without full SFT may still be considered where their wider experience is suitable.Willingness to travel across the project region.Contract details:Minimum 12 month contract.Full time, five days per week.Approximately 10 hours per day.Southern England, covering Northwest London and the M4 corridor through to Swindon.Immediate start preferred.Candidates with notice periods of up to three months will be considered.Competitive day rate, dependent on authorisations and competencies.If you’re a 132kV SAP looking for a genuinely long term programme please contact me directly or send over your CV and authorisations to josie.wade@hunterphilips.com.

33kV Senior Authorised Person – Long Term Contract – Southern England - SSEN patch - Monday to FridayI’m working with a major contractor delivering an extensive programme of new connections, asset replacement and capital works across the SSEN DNO network. The role will involve:Acting as a Senior Authorised Person across 11kV and 33kV networks.Planning and undertaking HV switching, isolations and restoration activities.Preparing and coordinating outage requirements and switching schedules.Establishing and maintaining Safety from the System.Preparing, issuing, receiving and cancelling safety documents.Supporting new connections, cable, substation and overhead line projects.Providing technical advice and operational support to site teams.Coordinating with Network Control, project managers and delivery personnel.Supporting planned shutdowns, overnight switching and occasional weekend work.Assisting with the development of 11kV SAPs progressing towards higher authorisations.Experience required:Current or previous SSEN Senior Authorised Person experience at 33kV (those without SFT will be considered)Strong practical knowledge of 11kV and 33kV distribution systems.Experience carrying out switching and managing HV safety documentation.Experience across cables, substations, overhead lines, connections or asset replacement.Candidates requiring further authorisation development may still be considered.Flexibility to travel across the project region.Contract details:Minimum 12 month contract.Full time, five days per week.Approximately 10 hours per day.Southern EnglandImmediate start availableDay rate, outside IR35If you’re a 33kV SAP looking for a long term contract please contact me directly or send over your CV and authorisations.
