Civil Resident Engineer - Civil Site Supervisor - HV Grid Infrastructure - Cable - Substation - Cork, Ireland - Contract


A leading contractor is seeking an experienced Civil Resident Engineer / Site Supervisor to support the construction delivery of a high-voltage grid connection project in the Cork region.


This contract position will focus on overseeing the installation of a 110kV underground cable route linking a newly delivered substation into the national transmission network. The role will play a critical function in supervising civils subcontractors and ensuring construction works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to programme.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day civils construction activities across the cable route.
  • Supervise subcontractors delivering trenching, ducting, reinstatement, and associated infrastructure works.
  • Monitor site quality, HSE performance, and compliance with grid standards.
  • Coordinate interfaces between principal contractor teams and subcontract packages.
  • Review site progress and escalate delivery risks where required.
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with design and technical specifications.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience operating as Civil Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, or Civils Supervisor on grid or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Strong background overseeing underground cable routes or HV grid line works.
  • Experience managing subcontractor gangs on live construction sites.
  • Knowledge of transmission / utility standards and site compliance requirements.
  • Strong HSE and quality oversight capability.
  • Ability to operate in a site-led, delivery-focused role.

Contract Details:

  • Location - Cork region, Ireland.
  • Contract duration - Initial term through to year end, with extension potential.
  • Start date - Whenever the candidate is available, can wait up to 6 weeks for the right person
  • Working arrangement - Site-based.

Assistant Site Manager - Solar PV - Solar Farm - Construction - UK - ContractJob Overview:A renewable energy EPC is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support the on-site delivery of utility-scale Solar PV project.
