Role: Country Manager – Serbia

Location: Belgrade, Serbia (flexible within country)

Reporting to: Regional Managing Director / CEO

Role Overview

The company is seeking an experienced, strategic Country Manager to lead its operations in Serbia. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving growth, operational excellence, and market positioning in alignment with regional and global objectives. The role combines commercial leadership, project oversight, and stakeholder engagement in a high-growth, regulated sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full P&L for the Serbian operations, ensuring financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and execute the country strategy in line with the company’s regional objectives.
  • Lead all aspects of project development, construction, and operations within Serbia, including regulatory compliance, permitting, and approvals.
  • Build, manage, and inspire a high-performing local team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Act as the primary interface with government authorities, regulators, utilities, investors, and local partners.
  • Drive business development initiatives, identifying and securing new projects, partnerships, and commercial opportunities.
  • Ensure risk management frameworks are implemented across all projects and operations.
  • Maintain alignment with corporate governance, ESG standards, and health & safety protocols.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven senior leadership experience in renewable energy, energy storage, infrastructure, or project-driven industries.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets, contracts, and complex multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Demonstrated success in P&L ownership, business growth, and operational delivery in a regulated environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of local market dynamics, government procedures, and regulatory frameworks in Serbia or the wider region.
  • Strong network with key industry stakeholders, government bodies, and financial institutions.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, capable of representing the company at executive and governmental levels.
  • Multilingual skills are advantageous (English mandatory; Serbian highly preferred).

Experience & Education

  • Typically 10–15+ years of relevant senior leadership experience, ideally with regional exposure.
  • Track record of managing complex projects from development through delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, energy, or related field; MBA or equivalent is advantageous.
