Head of Wind - Repowering, Germany (W/M/D)
Role Overview:
An international renewable energy business is seeking a Head of Wind Project Development – Repowering to establish and lead its first operations in Germany. This role offers the unique opportunity to set up the German entity, define processes and workflows, and drive the country’s early-stage repowering wind projects. While initially very hands-on, the role also provides the chance to grow and manage a high-performing local team as the business expands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of repowering wind projects in Germany, from site identification through early permitting stages.
- Establish and structure the German entity, including internal processes and project management frameworks.
- Engage with landowners, municipalities, grid operators, and other key stakeholders.
- Oversee initial project execution while planning for future team expansion.
- Coordinate with international teams to align strategy, standards, and best practices.
The ideal candidate:
- Proven experience in wind project development, ideally including repowering projects.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in setting up or scaling operations.
- Comfortable taking a hands-on approach in an early-stage organization.
- Fluency in German and English; willingness to travel within Germany.
