Offshore WTG Commissioning Manager (SOV) - Major Offshore Wind Project - OEM Side - Hartlepool, England, United Kingdom - £Excellent Hourly Rate - 6 Month Contract - Immediate Start - Outside IR35 - 2 & 2 Rotation (12 Hour Days)


An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Offshore WTG Commissioning Manager to join a major offshore wind project on the OEM side, supporting turbine commissioning activities from an SOV.


The role sits within a large, multi-phase offshore wind programme and will play a critical part in supervising and coordinating all offshore commissioning activities within the SOV scope, reporting directly into the Commissioning Project Manager.


Responsibilities:

  • Overall supervision of offshore WTG commissioning activities within SOV scope
  • Maintain and support the commissioning strategy, plan, and schedule
  • Prepare daily status reports for commissioning management and stakeholders
  • Coordinate with installation, marine, and associated works contractors, particularly during energisation and transition from installation to commissioning
  • Direct leadership and supervision of all offshore commissioning teams
  • Support energisation, test runs, TOC updates, and documentation
  • Ensure effective handover between rotations
  • Manage quality priorities onboard and support quality inspectors
  • Maintain a strong EHS culture, including toolbox talks and offshore briefings
  • Manage cabin planning, onboard inductions, startup briefs, and offboarding meetings
  • Support marine operations, ERP, safety procedures, and customer updates
  • Maintain 3-day and 7-day look-ahead planning


Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong electrical commissioning background, including HV systems
  • Proven offshore WTG commissioning experience
  • Electrical project management experience
  • Experience working offshore from SOVs
  • Excellent leadership and people management capability offshore
  • Strong QHSE awareness
  • Comfortable working with procedures, schematics, and as-built drawings
  • Competent with commissioning documentation, test plans, and checklists
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
