This opportunity offers both project accountability and strategic growth influence.

The Company:

Our client is a fast-growing, dynamic renewable energy developer with a strong presence in the Netherlands. Backed by prominent international investors, the company focuses on developing and delivering utility-scale solar projects, spanning both greenfield development and the acquisition of semi-developed assets.

With a substantial pipeline and clear European expansion strategy, the organisation is entering a new phase of accelerated growth. As part of this expansion, they are strengthening their Dutch leadership structure to support long-term development and portfolio scale-up.

The Role:

As Senior Project Developer, you will take ownership of a portfolio of utility-scale solar projects across the Netherlands, overseeing the full lifecycle from early-stage origination through to ready-to-build. In addition to project delivery, this role carries leadership and growth responsibility within the Dutch platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading site identification and origination strategy across targeted regions
  • Taking ownership of land acquisition, permitting, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory processes
  • Managing relationships with municipalities, regulatory authorities, landowners, and grid operators
  • Assessing grid capacity and coordinating cable routing feasibility
  • Overseeing financial feasibility assessments in collaboration with internal finance and legal teams
  • Managing and mentoring junior developers as the team expands
  • Contributing to overall Dutch growth strategy, pipeline expansion, and regional development planning.

The Person:

  • Evidence of strong experience developing large-scale solar projects within the Netherlands
  • Proven ability to drive projects through permitting to ready-to-build stage
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with commercial accountability
  • Solid understanding of grid processes and early-stage project economics
  • Demonstrated leadership capability or mentoring experience
  • Fluent Dutch (C1+) and professional English
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable operating with autonomy

The role offers strategic influence, leadership exposure, and clear progression as the organisation continues to scale.
