Technical Lead / Senior Electrical Engineer – Offshore Wind – 12 Months Initial Contract – Hybrid RoleJob OverviewWe are supporting a leading European transmission system operator in the appointment of a Technical Lead / Senior Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale offshore wind portfolio across Ireland.This position sits at the centre of multiple offshore wind developments (circa 4–5GW pipeline) and will act as the key client-side engineering lead. The role will focus on technical oversight, stakeholder coordination, and engineering due diligence from development through to construction and eventual energisation.This is not a design-heavy role. The successful candidate will operate as a technical authority, ensuring alignment between internal teams, external consultants, and project developers across complex grid and offshore interfaces.Key Responsibilities:Act as the lead electrical engineering representative across multiple offshore wind projects on the Irish East CoastProvide technical oversight across the full project lifecycle - development, design review, construction, and commissioning through to energisationLead engineering due diligence activities, ensuring designs align with transmission and grid integration requirementsCoordinate and manage interfaces between internal departments including system planning, future networks, and asset teamsManage and align third-party engineering consultancies across various project stagesDrive clarity and decision-making across complex and evolving project structuresSupport offshore transmission system development including 220kV grid infrastructure and associated export cable systems (66kV / 275kV)Represent the organisation in technical discussions with developers, consultants, and external stakeholdersProvide technical input into offshore operational frameworks and long-term asset strategyQualifications & Experience:Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related disciplineProven experience delivering offshore wind or large-scale transmission projectsStrong understanding of power systems, grid integration, and offshore electrical infrastructureDemonstrable experience in stakeholder management and multi-disciplinary coordinationStrong communication skills with the ability to influence and guide technical decisionsContract Details:12 months initial contract (with high extension potential)Start Date: ASAPHybrid working model This is a unique opportunity to take a lead engineering role across one of Europe’s most significant offshore wind pipelines, contributing to Ireland’s 2030 renewable energy targets while operating at the forefront of offshore transmission development.To apply, please submit your CV or send directly to roman.floyd@hunterphilips.com.

Site Manager – 132kv High Voltage Substation– Renewable Energy – Southwest of England – 4 Month Contract Are you an experienced Site Manager with a proven track record of delivering high voltage substation projects? If so, please read below. We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the construction of a 132kV high voltage substation connected to a 50MW Solar Farm. Employed by the Principal Contractor, you will play a critical role in managing site activities during the final stages of the project, focusing on the electrical installation and commissioning of high voltage equipment. This is a full-time, site-based role that requires a professional with strong electrical knowledge and experience in similar projects. While formal qualifications are not required, a proven track record of managing high voltage electrical installations is essential. Role & Responsibilities:Act as the on-site representative of the Principal Contractor, ensuring all activities are executed safely, efficiently and in compliance with project specifications.Oversee and coordinate the activities of subcontractors and internal staff involved in electrical installation and commissioning.Monitor progress against project timelines, identifying and addressing any risks to the schedule or quality standards.Supervise the installation and commissioning of key high voltage equipment, including but not limited to transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and cable pulling.Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and environmental standards on-site.Maintain clear communication with the project team, subcontractors and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress and challenges.Ensure all required documentation related to site activities, testing and commissioning is completed accurately and on time. Skills And Experience:Minimum of 5+ years in Site Management, with a proven tracker record of managing complex projects.Fluency in English for all written and verbal communications.Effective verbal and written communication skills, being able to convey technical information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.Clear understanding and knowledge of HSE.Experience in managing high voltage substation construction, specifically electrical installations and commissioning activities.
