Vice President of Sales – Utility-Scale Battery Storage

The Opportunity
Our client are seeking a dynamic VP of Sales to lead the European sales strategy, build and manage high-performing sales teams, and drive revenue growth across key markets. Reporting to the board, this role will be instrumental in establishing strong customer relationships, closing high-value contracts, and shaping the company’s market positioning in the utility-scale segment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the European sales strategy, with a focus on utility-scale BESS projects.
- Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders including utilities, IPPs, developers, and grid operators.
- Lead and expand the sales team across priority markets.
- Drive end-to-end sales processes including tendering, contract negotiation, and deal closure.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, legal, and finance teams.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in complex technical sales, ideally within energy storage, renewables, or power systems.
- Deep understanding of the European energy market and regulatory landscape.
- Proven track record of closing large-scale infrastructure or energy deals (multi-million €).
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing international sales teams.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages (e.g. German, Spanish, French, or Italian) are a plus.
- Willingness to travel across Europe as needed.
