The Company
A highly successful investor, developer, and IPP of utility-scale renewable energy projects. Further expansion within a number of markets has created the opportunity for a Head of M&A in Singapore in order to drive the acquisitions needed to meet their ambitious but achievable targets for utility-scale renewables projects across APAC.
The Role
The role will be to add several GW of pipeline to their large portfolio of Utility Scale Solar, Wind, and battery storage projects, whilst leading the successful processes required to secure Joint Ventures, and Project Finance / Corporate Finance.
Some duties would include:
- Develop and execute a 3-5 year strategy to accelerate the Acquisition & Financing of the ready-to-build and greenfield utility-scale renewables pipeline
- Oversee the Financing for the Development & Construction of a large pipeline of projects
- Ensure success in areas such as New Market Entry, acquisition of JV partners, and PPAs
- Develop processes, tools, and best practices for effective collaboration and for interfacing across all internal and external stakeholders
- Structure & undertake board-level responsibilities in SPVs
- Build and lead a high-performing team in APAC
- Lead & establish relationships with EPCs, OEMs, project developers, financial institutions, investors, governments, and major offtakers across the region
- Take a leading role in commercial negotiations and lobbying
- Attractive opportunities for LTIP and progression to regional CEO / CIO within 5 years
- Ongoing involvement with assets in line with the buy, hold, and operate strategy of the organisation
Essential Requirements
In order to be suitable for this role, it is essential that you are a strong fit for the following criteria
- 3+ years leading the identification & execution of utility scale renewables
- Demonstrated experience in securing financing of utility-scale renewables
- Experience in setting up Joint Ventures for the Development, Operation, and Offtake of utility-scale renewables
- Battery Storage experience is highly attractive
- Strong commercial knowledge and financial acumen
- Speak professional-level English, plus a professional-level capability in another language within APAC is also highly attractive
