Electrical Site Supervisor - Client Representative - Grid Stability Projects - Sligo/Derry - Long-Term Contract (2 Years)
A leading European renewable energy developer is seeking an experienced Electrical Site Supervisor to act as their client-side representative across three grid stability project sites in the northwest of Ireland (Sligo and Derry). Two of the sites have already mobilised, with civil works progressing and construction activity expected to increase significantly from mid-January.
This is a single-resource requirement covering all three locations, with an expectation of strong on-site presence (approximately four days per week), ensuring quality, safety, progress and contractor performance are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the developer’s on-site representative ("boots on the ground") across three project locations
- Monitor progress against programme milestones and ensure timely escalation of risks or delays
- Oversee electrical and civil contractors to ensure quality workmanship aligned with project specifications
- Maintain strong focus on HSE fundamentals and promote safe site behaviours
- Conduct site walkdowns, inspections and readiness reviews for key work fronts
- Support pre-commissioning and energisation activities where relevant
- Provide clear weekly reporting and structured feedback to the senior project team
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong electrical background essential – preference for candidates who began as electricians and progressed into supervisory roles
- Substation construction experience is highly desirable (AIS or GIS), including exposure to HV works, control rooms and M&E packages
- Demonstrable understanding of site safety and contractor management in complex, high-voltage environments
- Previous experience on synchronous condensers, BESS, HV interconnectors or other grid-stability assets is beneficial but not mandatory
Location & Working Pattern
- Sites located in Northern Republic and Northern Ireland
- Ideal candidate will already live in the northwest region
- Expected pattern: around four days per week on site across the three locations, with one day from home
Contract Details
- Contract: Long-term (multi-site delivery programme)
- Start: Immediate availability or short notice preferred
This position offers the opportunity to play a key delivery role in a unique and technically significant part of Ireland’s future grid stability strategy, supporting grid infrastructure across multiple live sites.
