Site Manager - Client Representative - Solar - Athlone (Ireland) - 18-Month Contract
A leading European renewable energy developer is preparing to deliver a major utility-scale Solar Farm located near Athlone, Ireland. With mobilisation planned for February/March 2026.
This role will sit client-side and the successful individual will be the developer’s key presence on site, overseeing safety, quality and progress throughout the full project lifecycle, and providing weekly reporting and updates to the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the full-time client representative on site throughout the 18-month delivery timeline
- Monitor and enforce health, safety and environmental standards during all construction activities
- Oversee and inspect work fronts to ensure compliance with design, quality standards and project specifications
- Track and review construction progress against programme, identifying risks or delays early
- Produce weekly progress reports highlighting status, risks, non-conformances and mitigation actions
- Provide clear escalation and communication between the EPC, subcontractors and the client’s Project Manager
- Participate in site reviews, walkdowns, readiness assessments and quality inspections
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience as a Site Manager, Client Rep or Construction Supervisor on major infrastructure or renewable energy projects
- Utility-scale Solar experience preferred; however, candidates from substations, high-voltage T&D, or large-scale renewable construction will also be considered
- Strong understanding of site based HSE processes, RAMS, quality standards and report writing
- Ability to effectively manage contractors while maintaining an impartial client view
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
