We are supporting a rapidly growing energy storage business in the search for a Sales Director to lead commercial growth across the DACH region.

 

This is a senior commercial leadership role focused on developing utility-scale and C&I BESS opportunities across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The business is experiencing strong market momentum and is looking for someone capable of driving strategic customer engagement, building long-term partnerships and expanding regional revenue growth.

 

The role will suit someone with a strong understanding of the energy storage market, complex energy infrastructure sales and the evolving DACH renewable energy landscape.

 

Working closely with senior leadership, this individual will play a key role in shaping regional strategy, supporting market expansion and strengthening relationships across developers, utilities, EPCs, IPPs and key energy stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sales strategy and commercial growth across the DACH BESS market
• Develop and manage strategic relationships with utilities, developers, EPCs, IPPs and large energy users
• Drive both utility-scale and commercial & industrial storage opportunities
• Lead complex commercial negotiations, tenders and long-cycle sales processes
• Build and manage a strong regional sales pipeline across standalone and hybrid storage projects
• Support go-to-market strategy, market positioning and regional expansion plans
• Work closely with technical, project delivery and leadership teams to align customer requirements with solution delivery
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and regulatory developments across the DACH region
• Deliver forecasting, pipeline visibility and commercial reporting to senior leadership

 

Candidate Profile

• 8–15+ years’ experience within renewable energy, power infrastructure or energy storage markets
• Strong commercial experience within BESS, solar + storage, grid infrastructure or wider energy transition technologies
• Proven track record selling into utilities, developers, EPCs, IPPs or industrial energy customers across DACH
• Strong understanding of the German-speaking renewable energy market and commercial landscape
• Experience leading complex, high-value technical sales processes
• Background within OEMs, integrators, EPCs, inverter manufacturers, storage providers or related sectors
• Commercially strong with the ability to operate strategically whilst remaining customer-facing
• Fluent German and English language skills preferred
• Degree qualified within Engineering, Business or a related discipline advantageous
