BP/TP141A Commissioning Engineer - BESS/National Grid 400kV Substation Project - North Yorkshire, England, UK - £Excellent Day Rate - 4 Month Contract - November Start Date - Monday to Friday (10 Hour Days) + Potential Weekend Work - Outside IR35


We're currently supporting one of our key clients, a major T&D EPC contractor, in securing an experienced BP141A Commissioning Engineer for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in North Yorkshire.


This is an excellent opportunity to work on a major National Grid-connected energy infrastructure project, supporting the commissioning of equipment within the National Grid substation for a private wire client.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support commissioning activities within the National Grid substation for a private wire client.
  • Execute and complete Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Carry out commissioning of HV primary plant and associated systems.
  • Coordinate and manage interfaces between the project team and National Grid.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities are completed safely and in accordance with National Grid procedures.
  • Produce commissioning documentation, test records and handover packs.
  • Attend commissioning meetings and provide technical support throughout the energisation programme.
  • Full commissioning programme including testing, ITP completion and NG interface works.


Requirements:

  • Current BP/TP141A National Grid Authorisation.
  • Previous experience commissioning National Grid substations.
  • Strong understanding of National Grid commissioning procedures and documentation.
  • Experience completing commissioning ITPs and associated records.
  • Ability to coordinate interface works with National Grid and multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.

Project Manager – Client-Side - Investment Management Company - Utility-Scale Solar PV - Construction We are currently supporting a leading renewable energy investment company in the appointment of a Project Manager to oversee the on-site delivery of a utility-scale Solar PV (100MW+) project in the Highlands County, Florida. Your focus will be on driving project delivery, identifying and mitigating risks, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring the EPC contractor and wider project team remain aligned. The position offers a unique opportunity to work directly for an investor, providing strategic oversight across the project lifecycle whilst coordinating multiple delivery partners, consultants and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Managing the relationship with the EPC Contractor throughout construction. Coordinating Technical Advisors, environmental consultants, utilities, AHJs and other external stakeholders. Monitoring programme, commercial and technical risks and proactively driving mitigation measures. Supporting project reporting, governance and regular updates to internal stakeholders. Managing permitting compliance and ensuring permit obligations are maintained throughout construction. Reviewing project progress and challenging delivery strategy where appropriate. Supporting contract administration, change management and commercial discussions. Ideally you will possess: Previous Construction or Project Management experience on utility-scale Solar PV, BESS or wider renewable energy projects. Experience coordinating EPC Contractors and multidisciplinary project teams. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience identifying, managing and mitigating project risks. Knowledge of permitting, environmental compliance and regulatory requirements throughout construction. Commercial awareness with experience supporting project reporting, budgets and programme management. The confidence to work independently whilst representing the client's interests.
