Sales Director for Europe

Energy Technology | Grid Infrastructure | Utilities & Data Centres

Location: Flexible across Europe

Package: Competitive base salary, uncapped commission and equity potential

We are working with a fast-growing energy technology business that is helping utilities, infrastructure owners and large energy users manage the challenges created by electrification, grid congestion and rising power demand.

The company provides a combination of advanced software, technical services and infrastructure solutions to customers across the utility, EPC, renewable energy and data centre markets. Following recent investment and continued growth across Europe, it is now looking to appoint a Sales Director to lead the next phase of commercial expansion.

This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who can open strategic accounts, build long-term customer relationships and turn complex technical solutions into clear commercial value.

The role

You will take ownership of sales growth across Europe, working closely with the CEO, product, engineering and delivery teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing the European commercial strategy
  • Winning new business with utilities, EPCs, developers, data centre operators and major industrial customers
  • Building relationships with senior decision-makers across engineering, procurement, operations and executive leadership
  • Managing complex sales cycles from initial engagement through to contract award
  • Developing strategic partnerships and channel relationships
  • Building and managing a qualified sales pipeline
  • Supporting bids, proposals, pricing and commercial negotiations
  • Providing market intelligence to guide product development and geographic expansion
  • Recruiting and developing a wider European sales team as the business grows

You will already have a strong track record selling complex technology, equipment, software or services into the energy or infrastructure market.

Relevant backgrounds may include:

  • Grid technology, utility software or energy management
  • Battery energy storage and power conversion
  • Data centre power and electrical infrastructure
  • Smart grid, flexibility, DERMS or virtual power plants
  • Electrical equipment, substations or transmission systems
  • Engineering, EPC or infrastructure technology

You should be comfortable operating in a scale-up environment where you will need to combine strategic thinking with direct customer engagement.

The successful candidate is likely to bring:

  • A proven record of winning new business across Europe
  • Existing relationships with utilities, EPCs, developers, data centres or industrial customers
  • Experience managing long, technically complex sales cycles
  • Strong commercial judgement and contract-negotiation skills
  • The ability to communicate credibly with both technical and commercial stakeholders
  • Experience building new markets, territories or sales functions
  • A willingness to travel across Europe

Why join?

This is an opportunity to join a well-funded and ambitious company at a point of significant commercial growth.

You will have the chance to:

  • Shape the company’s European sales strategy
  • Sell into some of Europe’s fastest-growing infrastructure markets
  • Work directly with the CEO and senior leadership team
  • Build and lead a future commercial organisation
  • Influence product direction and market expansion
  • Benefit from a high-reward commission structure and potential equity participation

This role would suit someone who enjoys creating opportunities rather than simply managing an established account base.
